Sam Scinta, Chief Executive Officer

Sam Scinta received his B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Denver, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Transportation Law Journal. He worked as a public finance attorney for Kutak Rock, where he assisted on over $1.5 billion in projects around the nation. In 2006, he was named Publisher of Fulcrum Publishing. In 2015, Sam founded IM Education, Inc., a non-profit focusing on education programming, developing and delivering programs on critical thinking and communication to regional school districts. He re-joined Fulcrum in 2020 as Publisher.
He has taught as a Lecturer in the Servant Leadership Program at Viterbo University, where he developed a graduate class on Civics and the Common Good, and a Lecturer in the Political Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, focusing on political thought and American government. A frequent speaker on civics and critical thinking, in 2021, with Viterbo University’s Reinhart Institute, Sam created Rebuilding American Civics, a free program providing civics education and discussion opportunities for community members.
He served as President of the Board of Publishers Association of the West, President of the Wisconsin Center for the Book, Board member of the Jefferson County (Colorado) Public Library Foundation, and Board member of the Winding Rivers (Wisconsin) Library System. In 2007 he was named as one of the “Ten to Watch” in the Denver arts and culture scene by the Rocky Mountain News. He served as Chairman of the City of Onalaska (Wisconsin) Waterfront Project Management Team and Chairman of the Onalaska Tourism Commission. He served three terms as a member of the Board of Curators of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, where he chaired the Marketing and Outreach Committee. He currently serves on the Advisory Council for the Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership, the board of the Onalaska Enrichment Foundation, and was the initial chair of the program committee for Leader Ethics, where he continues to serve.
He is currently the CEO of the Greater La Crosse Chamber of Commerce.
